The Keepers of the Faith

A circle with sunburst rays around it, dividing in half with black in the lower half.

Into the Universe a host of eternal souls manifested. For eons, these souls were adrift. Then, A'Katatul (The Creator) emerged. He offered a plan with a place where the souls could work toward perfection. A place filled with beauty and corruption. This plan would allow the souls to keep returning, improving with each attempt. When a soul had finally attained a level of perfection, called Enlightenment, it would exit this life and begin experiencing the universe in a new, ascended way.

But some souls were unhappy with this plan. The leader of these souls is what we call A'Sikekatan (The Dar One). She felt that happiness should be given to all, without the challenges of life. A'Katatul did not agree. She rebelled. A'Katatul defeated her, but she was able to escape.

The Kreator fabricated this world to serve as the place of refining. In order to limit his interactions and facilitate the refining of souls, he designed the world to limit his ability to directly affect those within it. He could still move mountains, but not if it would directly affect a soul. With the world ready, he filled it with the souls of the universe.

But A'Sikekatan saw a loophole. This was a place she could choose to be in her exile, a place A'Katatul could not touch her. Not only that, but she could corrupt the other souls, preventing them from ever reaching Enlightenment. For time beyond count, she led the souls of many away through her corruption. But A'Katatul returned and found her. Working within his limitations, he locked her away, but her corruption of the world was irreversible. The corruption had twisted some in the mind and others in the body.

A'Katatul was grieved for his world, as he could not eliminate the taint. Instead, he provided a text that would allow souls to shed the corruption and attain Enlightenment. While others have distorted these teachings, the Lisuan have kept them. Into their guardianship, A'Katatul also charged the prison cell of A'Sikekatan and half of the Sword of Judgement. A'Katatul promised to one day see The One with the rest of the sword. This One would destroy the prison cell with the Sword of Judgement and lead the Enlightened to rid the world of corruption. Then, the Enlightened could finally ascend.
