Xanona is one of the founding members of the Konsil Ncxons and the only founding member whose population was non-human. Its population is primarily Noni, aka Hill Dwarf, and is estimated to harbor close to 40 million people. Xanona has a very low presence of the non-Noni races due to the severe economic opportunities and the cultural attitude toward acquisition. Comparative to other Konsil Ncxons, it is a bit smaller, covering only eight hundred twenty five thousand square miles (roughly the size of Saudi Arabia). Much of its climate is comparable to steppes and plains, providing decent agricultural opportunities but limited diversity.
The largest city in Xanona is the capital, Andariko, with nearly one hundred fifteen thousand inhabitants covering over six square miles. Other cities of importance are Feveni, Nerys, Fakzma, Nebajydha, Pochyda, Vimaka, Kankypta, Wucavi, Nebeda, and Gojapo. Each of these are regional capitals and have between ninety thousand and eight thousand inhabitants. Commerce in Xanona is done primarily through Noni, the official language, though most merchants know Komen and/or Dwarven.
Xanona was founded several thousand years ago as an outreach colony of the dwarven Nation of Kadako and has since become a brave experiment in free enterprise and greed. The mountain dwarves instituted several conflicting policies when creating the Ncxon to serve as a buffer zone between them and the other races. These policies were to serve as a means of reducing fears of invasion or contamination and exchanging needed supplies. Those policies instead shaped massive and very powerful guilds each with the intent of securing more power and more wealth. The Crystal Throne belongs to the Gol Natekajib who is elected from amongst the legislative branch (the Gol Natek) every five years. Only the richest members of each recognized guild are allowed to serve in the Gol Natek. It is no surprise that, more often than not, they promote policies with the single purpose of protecting the wealth of the Gol Natek membership. As a byproduct of the Gol Natek membership requirements, a very powerful Financial Branch has developed. This branch tracks the wealth of all Noni and distributes the notices when an individual has amassed enough wealth to rise into the Gol Natek, or lost too much wealth and is removed from the Gol Natek. All Noni know to tread lightly around members of the Financial branch, or one might find their assets re-evaluated to their detriment. The majority of Xanona's economy is comprised of acting as a reseller between Kadako and the other Konsil Ncxons, but also does brisk business in wheat, apples, vodkas, and beer. The current leading factions within the Gol Natek are helmed by Tyshir Filipova, Markas Anchova, Motka Korneev, Vir Eltsov, Ochfsr Dvorak, Rolf Brezhny, Dema Nosov, Andros Pouxkin, Michail Duchovni, Tsr Arsov, and Durran Buchiev. The current Gol Natekajib is Marko Tumovix. Laws and judicial decisions are centered upon the Raganon (Laws of Governance) and the Konsil Akkords. The National Banner for Xanona is a Horizontal Serpentine Line (making three “hills”) dividing the banner into two halves. The top is a light gold and the bottom is a dark gold.
Xanona has a paltry state military. The virtual lack of a military is excused for two reasons: One, no one wants to invade Xanona (it is full of Noni, enough said). Two, the local Guild Security forces are often Counsel Knight trained and more impressive than most normal military forces. Guilds value their money greatly and are not willing to let invasions, wars, or other disputes affect their profits (unless it is a positive adjustment, after all, individuals in conflict are always needing weapons and food). Xanona does not employ Valkyrii, though some Guilds and Noni have been known to do so.
