Net'Alea is the second of the elven Ncxons within the Konsil Ncxons. Its population is primarily Elven and is estimated to harbor close to 133 million people. Net’ Alea has very few human, half-elves, or halflings, but is not as antagonistic to the other races as the Aleans. It is this division in attitude toward other races that prompted the formal separation nearly fifteen hundred years ago. Unlike Alea, Net'Alea is fairly open and accepting of contact with the other member nations of the Konsil. A word of caution, Net'Aleans may be more welcoming of interacting with the other members of the Konsil Ncxons, but they will always support their elven brethren over any other race, even when killing them.
Few outside of the Elven Nations know the specifics of the First Elven War, but the deep animosity between the Ncxons and the obvious difference in how they interact with other Ncxons and races have drawn many conclusions. Unfortunately, the animosity often builds up every three to five hundred years and creates a series of border skirmishes or outright war. Theoretically, the Konsil Nyts are tasked with stopping these conflicts, but have resolved to serve more as buffers and clean-up forces after the two Ncxons have vented steam. None of the conflicts have led to borders shifting or changes in allegiances, just death.
Net’Alea is comprised of six states: Kyko, Lasaba, Lacula, Viravesh, Rallela, and Besi. The largest city in Net’Alea is the capital, Gallandrea, with nearly one hundred seventy-five thousand inhabitants covering over nine square miles. Other cities of importance are Naxomonear, Lacula, Gexaalan, Huhano, and Meriames. Each of these are regional capitals and have between one hundred forty thousand and eight thousand inhabitants. Commerce in Net’Alea is done primarily through Alean, the official language. Most nobles are fluent in both Komen and Elven, the precursor to Alean.
Net'Alea is ruled in a similar fashion as Alea with a Vysu Is Banna (Council of Elders) and an elected monarch. The elected monarch is a lifetime appointment and is traditionally the eldest child of the previous monarch. Exceptions have been made to allow non-eldest children to be elected (more often for males, but sometimes for females as well). Net'Alea was the first of the elven nations to begin allowing females to lead Noble Houses and is often seen as more progressive. The current head of state is Sibexa Retysa Galandri and she rules from the Sun Throne. The current Vysu Is Banna consists of Alana Lasori, Tellesa Moshan, Nila Jenury, Gitano Taleki, Lonzo Jenulev, and Lali Konami. The National Banner for Net’Alea is a Golden Six-Pointed Star upon a Field of Crimson.
Net’Alea is the largest of the Konsil Ncxons with nearly two million square miles of territory (roughly half the size of the United States). The general economy of Net’Alea varies little from Alea. Net’Alea barters in cheeses, ciders, and brandies as well. Many believe their Scotches and Gins to be the best in the Konsil Ncxons. Apple Cider, and Apple Brandy. Part of the reason trade with Net’Alea is marginal is the rampant air of racial superiority, but another reason is that the Net’Alean spirits and cheeses only sell to select markets, very small select markets. Net’Alea also produces exceptional gems and worked metals, but exports are limited by what the military can afford to divert from the borders with the Labyrinth.
Net’Alea has a very strong and active military force. At any time, nearly four hundred thousand soldiers can be mustered. This number is both impressive and understated. Elven tradition dictates that every individual over the age of twenty-one is a member of the military forces and may be pressed into service, male or female. Every Net’Alean over the age of twenty-one is required to attend regular training periods to have their potential contribution assessed and developed. This training includes an excellent war college and an exceptional school for the arcane arts known as ‘The University’. Individuals selected to attend ‘The University’ will be pushed hard with the goal of discovering their absolute best. This absolute best may be related to duplicating or moving supplies, or it may be to serve as a healer, or to wield an arsenal of destruction upon the front lines of the Labyrinth.
